Happy Eid Fitr, 2007

Assalamualaikum,

Eid Mubarak To All of You.

The Eid prayer is at 8:30am in Career High School, New Haven.

Allahu Akbar...Allahu Akbar....Allahu Akbar.....
We love to hear this on the night of Eid.

I cook fried noodle or mie goreng with shrimp and vegetables. We eat first before we go to the place where the Eid prayer is. My husband is not home yet since Shubuh pray. My youngest one is still sleeping.

I drive my rental car to go out to this Eid Day. When we get in Career High School, the weather outside is very cold. The park is full, then we have to park far a way and walk to building.

Inside the building, Sheikh Muhammad Abdelati is ready to lead the Eid pray. Alot of people are coming today. The Gym, where the Eid Pray is performing, is full even the second floor.

After Eid pray, we went to cafetaria for breakfast. I put the fried noodles in there and finish so soon. There are alot of foods, bagel, porridge, muffin, scramble eggs,
and fried noodles with shrimp and vegetables.

I sit in the same table with sister Mubarakah and sister Yasmeen Abrar. Sister Mubarakah said about her family's tradition in Eid. She is the fourth generation Muslim in her family.
Sister Yasmeen is the second generation from Pakistan immigrant in Texas,USA.
Sister Mubarakah also said about her plan to make boarding school for Muslim in New Haven Omar Academy
That's very good idea for the next generation.

At 11am, we go to our Indonesian family. Alot of Indonesian and foods, such as lontong sayur, ketupat, kacang goreng, es campur, etc.
At 11:30am, we have to return the rental car then I go home by walking. It is only 20 minutes walking uphill. It is good for exercise.

In the afternoon, we go to Malaysian friend. There are so many Malaysian and foods, such as, lontong, rendang juga, etc.

Sister Nurlela from Hartford gives me pempek, Indonesian food from Palembang. Yummy in my tummy, that's what my kids said to me. Thank you for the gifts.

Taqabballah mina wa minkum

Allahu Akbar...Allahu Akbar... Allahu Akbar.... This is Takbir.
